Treena vs Cursor
A desktop editor vs. a mobile coding IDE
Cursor is a well-built AI code editor for your desktop. Its iOS companion app lets you check in on a running agent, but the actual editor and terminal stay on your desk. Treena is built for the opposite case: writing and shipping code when the only device in your hand is your phone, iOS or Android.

Cursor FAQ
Questions, answered
- Does Cursor have a mobile app?
- Yes. Cursor launched a native iOS app in public beta in June 2026. It's agent-mediated: you can launch and monitor Cloud Agents, review diffs, screenshots, and logs, and merge PRs, but there's no traditional file editor or terminal in the app itself, so writing code by hand still means opening the desktop app.
- Does Cursor have an Android app?
- No. Cursor's mobile app is iOS only as of this writing. Treena is available on both iOS and Android.
- Do I need a paid plan to use Cursor's Cloud Agents?
- Yes. Cloud Agents require Cursor Pro ($20/month) or a higher tier; the free Hobby plan doesn't include them. Treena's free tier includes agent access.
- Is Treena a replacement for Cursor?
- For desktop development, Cursor is a strong, mature editor. Treena solves a different problem: coding when you don't have a laptop with you. Many developers use a desktop editor at their desk and Treena for the gaps in between.
- Can Cursor's agent run without my computer on?
- Yes, for Cloud Agents specifically: they run on Cursor's own cloud infrastructure, so a task can keep going with your laptop off, similar to Treena's cloud workspace. Cursor also has a separate Remote Control feature for steering an agent running locally on your desktop from your phone, which does require your computer to stay on.
